Don’t Fill the Space—Open It

A good question can change a conversation. And a conversation can change a life.

A good question makes space.

It does not fill it. It does not direct. It does not push.

It invites. It offers enquiry, scratches at curiosity.

A good question is clear in its intention, but generous in its possibilities. It has purpose, but not manipulation. It is built with precision, but leaves space for the unexpected.

A good question does not put the other person on the defensive. It gives them permission to access a part of themselves that perhaps they had not explored before. A good question does not feel like a test; it feels like a portal.

A good question does not always require an immediate answer. Sometimes, it simply needs to be heard. Felt. Inhabited.

A good question can gently shake you. It can open a door you didn’t even know was closed.

A good question can change a conversation. And a conversation can change a life.

So the question isn’t: How do you get the answer you want? The question is: How do  you craft a question spacious enough to let an unexpected answer arrive?
